You’re looking for a vocation,
not just a job...
Let’s talk.

Professional Growth

Habilitation work presents many kind of challenges: creative, intellectual, social, emotional, psychological, physical, medical, financial and technical. You may develop your ability to negotiate, organize, motivate, delegate, coordinate and account.
It all contributes to can-do managerial style backed by practical skills, assets that will take you places within NCC and anywhere else.

Flexibility

You can vary your number of working hours and your shift frequently. As in any household, the needs of our residents are continuous but diverse; they vary from house to house, from time to time, and from one individual to another.

Because NCC currently serves eleven group homes and a growing number of persons in supported living, you also can choose to work at any of many locations.

Respect

High-quality service begins with respect for your residents. In return, you’ll earn their respect for your authority, responsibility, and competence. You’ll earn the respect of your supervisors at NCC too.

Competitive Compensation

NCC’s wage scale and benefits are competitive with those of similar positions in our industry. You might find a job that will offer a larger paycheck but it’s unlikely that you’ll find one with greater rewards.

Satisfaction

Our employees work in our resident’s real lives, these it really matters and the rewards are as varied as those of life itself.
Beyond assisting with residents’ needs, you’ll share in their joys. They find joy in so many everyday things --- walks in the park, sports, birthday celebrations, shopping trips, restaurant dinners, earning pay for their work in sheltered workshops.
In our group homes, you’ll help disabled people to develop lives of their own. You’ll be more than a caregiver, you’ll serve as a role model, social guide, and mentor.
In supported living, you’ll be even more of a role model, coaching people who may be living on their own for the first time --- and enjoying the freedom and challenge.
A very rewarding aspect of your work at NCC will be your co-workers. You’ll work with people who –like you – have big hearts and fine characters.

A Big Heart

In today’s world, that isn’t the first requirement for very many jobs, but at Northeast Care Center, Inc. (NCC), it is. We need caregivers --- habilitation assistants, nurses, therapists, cooks and housekeepers --- who find fulfillment in nurturing those who need it most. These are people who see themselves changing a life, not just changing the linen.
These are rare, special people. In fact, often we hire new employees who were referred to us by our previous employees (bird of a feather…). But we appreciate special people wherever we find them.

Skill In Residential Care

Habilitation is more them daily services --- meals, showers, housework, laundry and medications --- but it’s vital that all of those things be dome well. Then you’ve cleared the way for the creative work.

A Strong Character

Patience, wisdom, fairness maturity, all those noble attributes may be fully exercised when you serve a household of mentally and developmentally disabled adults. It becomes easier as you become acquainted with one another and become a family.
