NCC is looking for volunteers to serve on their Human Rights Committee (HRC). The committee meets every quarter for approximately 2 hours to review decisions having the potential to violate the rights of an individual who is receiving services from NCC Solutions, including medication changes, medical procedures, and behavior support strategies. As a committee member, you would approve or reject decisions made by an individual’s interdisciplinary team, and ensure individuals’ civil rights by advocating for their best interests. Volunteers do not need to complete an application, background check, orientation, 2-step PPD, and volunteer paperwork, as is required for the other volunteer positions. Virtual training to be a committee member is offered by the State of Ohio; is free and completed online, requiring about two hours. Currently, the committee meets via Zoom rather than in person. To find out more about this position and/or to apply, please contact Lglaze@necare.org
